The Society was found in 1911 for the collection and publication of archaeological, historical information and materials relating to the then County of Flint.

A programme of lectures are organised during the winter months. Over the summer, we arrange a series of excursions to sites of historic and archaeological interest. There is also an annual residential summer school, which gives members the opportunity to explore the history of other regions of Britain.

The Flintshire Historical Society Journal is our main publication. Its content includes a mix of lengthy scholarly articles, shorter articles and book reviews.
